456 was one of the first Shanghai restaurants to appear in Chinatown almost 40 years ago.
My Father tells me it first opened somewhere by Park Row and moved to different locations over the years. One day it just disappeared...
It seems like there has been a restaurant revival of 456 where the old Singapore Cafe stood for many years.
The new 456 is a little bit more expensive than some of the other Shanghai places, but the quality of their dishes is excellent. My meal was done just right. It wasn't over seasoned nor drenched in sauce which can be a problem with any Sweet and Sour dish.
Definite thumbs up!
